Abel Gideon Announced To Still Be Alive
Abel Gideon has been announced to still be alive. When we last say Abel Gideon, Will Graham shot him in order to protect Alana Bloom. Abel Gideon had broken out of the mental institution to hunt down every single psychiatrist and psychologist who had ever rooted around in his brain.
Bryan Fuller announced this on the Kevin Pollak Chat Show live yesterday (July 28th, 2013). While there is not yet video available of the chat show episode, the news was first shared on the tumblr blog, tattle-crime.com. Tattle-crime.com is run by “Freddie Lounds,” a big Hannibal fan who roleplays as Freddie Lounds on the blog and in interviews with the cast and crew. She is a very lovely reporter and is a reliable source. She gets her information straight from Bryan Fuller himself.
Moments after the information was shared on tattle-crime.com, it became available on the Hannibal wiki. However, no other sources have cropped up yet. The Kevin Pollak Chat Show has a Youtube page, and we at HannibalTVShow.com are keeping an eye on it. We will share the video as soon as possible.
Lara Jean Chorostecki has mentioned in an interview with Tattle-crime.com that one of the actors she is hoping to work with again is Eddie Izzard. Eddie Izzard plays Abel Gideon. It would be interesting to see how their interaction in season 1 would color their interaction in later seasons. Poor Freddie had been in quite the terrifying situation because of him.
There is also potential for Abel Gideon continuing to play into the discovery of Hannibal Lecter’s identity or Will Graham’s road to clearing his name. Abel Gideon is aware of Hannibal giving him the necessary information so he could hunt down Alana Bloom to kill her and is aware of Hannibal’s disregard to Will’s seizure, mental health, and physical health. Abel Gideon does detest corrupt psychologists, after all.
